The Turning Hour Project--a literature-based study for preventing adolescent suicide and building personal resilience.

We are pleased to announce the arrival of a new kid on the block, Wild Onion Press! We publish books featuring children with various physical differences. Our philosophy is that a physical difference is not a disability; it is merely an outstanding characteristic. In our current biracial, multicultural society, the voices of the physically different are now especially the ones to be folded into the mainstream of American culture, as well as into the global community.

Through school and recreational reading, readers will come to know that Wild Onion Press's characters are so similar to themselves that differences do not matter, if, indeed, they don't disappear altogether. Fiction, nonfiction and biographies are Wild Onion's specialties suitable for all young readers as well as for adults.

 Sincerely,

 Shelley Mickle
President, Wild Onion Press
